In an alternate timeline created when SG-1 journeyed to ancient Egypt and changed history, Mr. Crandall was Daniel's supervisor for his job as a teacher of English as a second language to immigrants. Crandall interrupted Daniel's class to inform him that Major Davis of the Air Force had arrived to request that Daniel accompany him to Cheyenne Mountain.
